This drinks cabinet has exquisitely sculpted doors from a piece of solid oak revealing wonderful shapes and patterns in the grain that lie beneath the surface.
The doors envelop a beautifully detailed interior perfect for all of those prized bottles of gin and cherished whisky collection. The doors have solid racks for storing bottles or glasses and adjustable shelves inside the cabinet means the layout can be made just as needed. Hand-cut dovetailed drawers offer space for bottle openers and all manner of drinks preparation devices.
Solid oak construction throughout provides a solid piece that will stand the test of time and become a true heirloom. The cabinet was finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C, Pure.
I finished this drinks cabinet with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C, Pure. A lovely oil that really brings out the grain, and you only need one coat. It's great for getting in all the corners that would normally be tricky to finish. I also love the fact that Rubio Monocoat is environmentally friendly with its 0% VOC oils and it's very easy to apply!

Nick James is a highly-skilled craftsman. He’s an advocate of traditional woodworking techniques that are rare in contemporary practice. A machine can’t pick up a piece of wood, study the flow of the grain or make a decision about how to use it.
Every piece is made by Nick and his team of skilled craftsmen in his workshop at Mushroom Works in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. Nick established his first-class techniques whilst attending the country’s leading furniture college, Rycotewood.
Along with his team of expert makers, he uses the best time-tested methods of connecting pieces of wood by unbreakable joints and precise construction methods to create furniture that will last lifetimes.
